Kyoshi D.M. Muhammad 6th Dan

Kyoshi Donnell Moultrie Muhammad was born in Brooklyn NY. and raised in Bedford Stuyvesant as well as Brownsville. Kyoshi started training when he was ten-years-old under Peter Louvich In Tae-Kwon Do karate for a short time. During one of my childhood summers in 1979, I met the infamous Hanshi Kumosan Turner along with his student Cheryl ‘Dadui’ Nichols on a handball court in Howard Houses Park. That’s when it all began. I was invited to the P.A.L in Howard Houses where they trained in a style of martial arts that was unfamiliar to me, Kuroshi-do. That’s were I met my brother and friend Hanshi “Zato” Isaac. I joined immediately, training Monday through Thursday four days a week at Kwanduks Dojo (The Peoples School). With my new family and friends.  Being motivated and determined, to make black belt quickly. I trained every day of the week never skipping a beat. I was awarded the outstanding student of the year award.  I was driven to obtain my goal. I had the desire to obtain my black belt as quickly as possible. I received it in three years time. The process was grueling. I always remembered hearing these words ‘It takes, blood sweat and tears” to get to that level. I’ve taken those words to mean Courage, Commitment and Concentration & I’ve been that way ever since. During my training I had the honor and privilege of meeting and training with Soke S. Papasan Canty, Soke Hansan Kaleak, and Soke Lusayne S. Alston. The three bold men who founded the Kuroshi-Do System. I also had the privilege of meeting and training with the late Founder of Aki-Elmore Ryu Jiu-Jitsu, Professor Charlrs Elmore, & his student Hanshi Charles Sparrow for many years. I had the honor of training under boxing coach Orvile Deputy for approximately one year in P.A.L. in Howard Houses.

I’m a Hall of Fame inductee, have competed in numerous tournaments, attended countless seminars gaining knowledge from various Grand Masters, Dr., Professors & others. I am known as the traveling instructor. Traveling the world teaching Kuroshi Do.
I’m presently employed with the NYC Dept. of Corrections, with eighteen years as an Officer. I’m a State Certified Defensive Tactics/Physical Fitness Instructor at the Correction Academy. I also train law enforcement personnel across the State of New York. I’m the Chief Instructor at the University of Kuroshi-Do /Temple of the Black Warrior. I would like to thank a great woman my mother Mrs. Lillian Rivers Greene for being there every step of the way encouraging me to stay strong. Most of all I want to thank Allah for allowing me to be in the right place at the right time.
