Born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico September 05, 1969. Raised in Brooklyn
from 1970 to 1980, and then went on to live in South America in Quito,
Ecuador. Shodan Tai first became interested in Martial Arts in Quito,
where he joined a Sensei Jose Aguirre’s who was teaching Tae Kwon Do in
the after school program. Shodan Tai returned to the USA in 1986 where
he attended Franklin K. Lane High School, still interested in learning
Martial Art he Joined Sensei Berman’s gym class for two years where he
started to learn Shotokan Karate. He graduates from High school in 1988. Still seeking
knowledge in Martial Arts he begins to search for a school where after a
few days of searching he found Shiryodo “Warriors Domain”. Shodan Tai
began his training under Soke Haisan Kaleak in 1988. Shodan Tai retired
from the NYC Police Department after 6 years of service and relocated to
Tampa, Florida where under the tutelage of Soke Haisan and Soke Papasan
Canty, he started his school Shiryodo-Ni Warriors Domain II, which he
named in honor to Soke Haisan Kaleak’s Shiryodo.
